Find Duplin County Recent Arrests
Start with the county's Inmate Search page. It carries Duplin County's own warning that details change fast and that some people may be excluded. From there it hands you off to Citizen Connect. The vendor portal splits its lookups into Current Confinements and Admits by Date Range, Charges, and Arresting Agency. That split matters. Current Confinements answers who is in custody right now. Admits by Date Range answers who entered the jail during a span you pick.
Always choose the narrowest view. Last 24 hours suits a same-day admission check. Last 7 days or a custom span up to 31 days covers a longer intake window. The arresting-agency filter helps with agency-specific lookups. Use it when the person was booked by Wallace Police, Warsaw Police, Kenansville Police, the Sheriff, or another agency at the Duplin County Detention Center. Some arrests will not show up, though. Citations, magistrate releases, juvenile matters, out-of-county bookings, and certain withheld entries can all stay off the portal.
Check the official county roster entry page before opening the live service.
The official county Inmate Search page shows its notice and its portal link. It is not a booking-photo gallery.
Duplin Arrest Records and Photos
A booking record documents admission to detention, nothing more. A Citizen Connect card can carry a name, booking or admission date, an identifier, alleged charges, the arresting agency, confinement state, and bond. Some entries also include a photograph. The county does not promise every field on every card. Nor does it promise a photo with each booking. The search controls themselves show how the portal can be queried.
| Record detail | What it means | Where to confirm |
|---|---|---|
| Admission date | The recorded county-jail intake, not necessarily the exact arrest time | Citizen Connect or Sheriff record |
| Charge | An charge entered at arrest or booking | Later court case and disposition |
| Arresting agency | The agency that originated the arrest | Booking card or arrest report |
| Bond | A pretrial release condition that may change | Magistrate, Clerk, or court record |
| Photograph | An intake image if the agency publishes it | Official entry or targeted request |
An arrest report from the Sheriff may hold more than the roster card. Aliases may appear. So can a physical description, offense details, witnesses, and arresting officers. North Carolina law lets the agency redact or withhold some of it. So the card is never the whole case file. Charges can also change. Amendment, reduction, dismissal, a plea, or trial can all reshape them.
The court record shows how a Duplin County case ended. A booking card does not.
Search the Duplin Jail Roster
For current custody in Duplin County, pick Current Confinements. For a fresh admission, use Admits by Date Range. Keep the dates tight. The portal may flash a loading message while it gathers results. Search engines sometimes index its labels without the live records. Treat the portal itself as the real answer and skip the search-engine shortcut.
- Read the county Inmate Search warning and follow its Citizen Connect link.
- Select Current Confinements for current custody or Admits by Date Range for recent booking activity.
- Use a full or partial name, charge, date, or arresting agency only when the detail is known.
- Compare identifiers and the custody state. Do not rely on a same-name match alone.
- Call Duplin County Detention at 910-296-2324 when a current status matters and the web result is unclear.
Duplin County cautions that information can change quickly. Some people may be left out at the discretion of the Sheriff's Office or another agency. The Released-Inmates search reaches back only 24 hours. A person can drop off Current Confinements. They can age out of the released view while the arrest report and court case still exist. No official page gives a fixed refresh interval. It offers no per-entry expiration date or universal photo-retention period.
A missing image has many explanations. There may have been no county booking at all. The public module may not expose the photo. The agency may withhold it, the matter may involve a juvenile or sealed record, or the portal may sit between updates. North Carolina arrest-photo law restricts juvenile records. An adult portal should never be read as a complete juvenile-arrest list.
Duplin Arrest Feed Windows
Citizen Connect offers several windows, each answering a different question. Arrested Today centers on the Last 24 hours admission control. Arrest Reports covers the separate Daily Report. It adds a multi-day blotter view. They are not duplicate feeds.
| Official view | Best use | Main limit |
|---|---|---|
| Current Confinements | Who appears held at county detention now | Dynamic and subject to exclusions |
| Last 24 hours | Just-booked county admissions | Not every city arrest becomes a jail admission |
| Last 7 days or custom dates | Short admission lookback | Custom range is capped at 31 days |
| Daily Report | Rolling Arrests and Bookings tabs | Not a permanent archive |
| Arrest Search | Historical date-range arrest query | Does not prove current custody or promise a photo |
The Daily Report runs on a rolling multi-day window of roughly five days. The county does not guarantee an exact span. Its 72-hour notice applies to incident and accident reports only. It is not a universal booking delay. No official page sets a publication schedule for Duplin County arrest data. Nothing covers weekends, holidays, or time of day. Once a short window rolls away, turn to the official Arrest Search. It is the next tool to try.
That form searches arrest records by date. It is not the current jail roster, and it does not promise a booking photograph.
After a Duplin County Arrest
The jail itself has a narrow job. Its official detention page makes that plain. Staff there do not set bond, move court dates, or decide punishment. Any bond listed at booking is only a pretrial condition, and the magistrate or court can change it, so confirm the figure there. The roster shows who is in custody. That is all it shows. Duplin County joined eCourts on February 3, 2025. Follow the case in the NC eCourts Portal once booking ends. When you need a certified copy, a calendar, or a Clerk search, turn to the Duplin court directory or call the Clerk of Superior Court at 910-275-7000. A case can stay searchable long after a booking drops off a short roster window. Open the official NC eCourts Portal to follow the case beyond booking.
The court screen adds context after booking. It does not prove anyone remains in Duplin County custody.
- Booking
- The intake event created when a person is admitted to detention.
- Bond
- A court or magistrate condition for pretrial release.
- Disposition
- The court’s final resolution of a charge.
- Expunction
- A court process that may remove, seal, or destroy eligible records.
Request Duplin Arrest Records
If Citizen Connect shows no record or photo, go to the office that holds the material. Duplin County's Public Records Request and Transparency Policy sends requests for independent offices, like the Sheriff, straight to those offices. For a Sheriff booking record, email dcsheriff@duplinnc.gov or call 910-296-2150 to confirm the current route. The detention line, 910-296-2324, handles custody routing only. A phone call never replaces the formal request. Spell out who you are asking about. Give the arrest date, booking number if known, and arresting agency. Name the exact item, such as an arrest report, charge sheet, booking photograph, release record, or a date-range export. Ask for electronic delivery. Say a segregated, redacted copy is fine. The policy asks for a clear description, date range, preferred format, and your contact information.
| County policy item | Published amount or timing |
|---|---|
| Inspection | Free |
| Paper copy | $0.10 per page |
| Ready electronic copy | No cost by email or download |
| Special service | $25 per hour |
| Initial response | Within three business days |
| Estimated simple request | About 5 to 10 business days |
Simple requests run about 10 to 15 business days. Complex ones may take 15 to 20. Very large jobs can arrive in batches. Anything over $25 earns an estimate first, and payment may be due before release. The county posts no booking-photo fee, and the Sheriff's separate criminal-history printout and fingerprint charges are their own items, not photo costs.
North Carolina Mugshot Law
Police may photograph and fingerprint people charged with felonies or misdemeanors after arrest. That power comes from N.C. Gen. Stat. § 15A-502 and carries its own conditions and juvenile limits. The statute lets an agency create an arrest photo. It does not force the Duplin County Sheriff to publish every image online. Chapter 132 and § 132-1.4 separate public law-enforcement information from criminal-investigation records. Public categories can include the time, date, place, and nature of a violation, identifying information, and the circumstances of an arrest. Active investigative details, juvenile material, sealed records, medical or security data, and protected identifiers may be withheld or redacted. Returned arrest and search warrants stay public unless sealed. Even so, that creates no online database of every unserved warrant. The General Assembly posts the full text of the official arrest-photo statute.
The statute covers when an agency may create a booking record in the first place. It says nothing about whether every Duplin booking image belongs on the public roster. A 2025 proposal, H.B. 446, addressed how booking photographs get disclosed. That bill did not become law. Treat it as history, not as something binding on anyone today. No statewide rule now compels private publishers to take down a booking image or requires free removal.
Correct or Remove Arrest Images
There are three steps, in order. Fix inaccurate details with the Sheriff or originating office first. Next, consider court relief. The disposition and North Carolina statute must make the record eligible. Only then can a judge act. Then send the resulting paperwork to every private publisher that copied the information. A vanished roster card does not mean dismissal. And an expunction order does not update every private site by itself.
- Obtain the court disposition and identify the exact official or private URL.
- Review the North Carolina Courts expunction guidance and official forms. Eligibility varies by charge, disposition, age, prior record, and statute.
- File in the county where the charge arose when eligible. The general fee is often $175, while many dismissed or not-guilty matters are fee-exempt unless diversion or deferred prosecution is involved.
- After an order or correction, contact the originating agency and each republisher through its free document process.
- Once the live source changes, use Google’s Refresh Outdated Content tool for an old search result or cached image.
Expunction can take months, the court warns. SBI expungement instructions walk through the petition and order. Sites like RecentlyBooked, Busted Newspaper, Mugshots.com, and Mugshots.zone offer free correction or document-based removal routes. Include the exact URL, name, disposition, and court papers. Never pay anyone who claims a fee unlocks a government removal process or guarantees a result.
Duplin Arrest Warrants and Wanted
Duplin County posts an official Most Wanted page. The county lists no separate public active-warrant portal. The two are different tools. Most Wanted asks the public for tips. A warrant inquiry covers court process and status. Neither one shows an arrest by itself. Use Citizen Connect for the current wanted list, the Clerk and NC eCourts Portal for returned court records, and the Sheriff at 910-296-2150 for agency confirmation. A portal result does not prove a live warrant. If a listing looks wrong, call an attorney, the Clerk, or the court. Never approach, follow, detain, or attempt a citizen arrest over a website. Current agency instructions sit on the official Duplin Most Wanted source.
The page updates on its own schedule. Its count, details, and images can shift anytime, and no reward program is listed.
Custody After Duplin Arrests
A booking, a prison sentence, and an immigration hold sit in three different systems. Someone just processed at the Duplin County Detention Center lands in Citizen Connect. Start there. If a Duplin arrest later leads to state prison, probation, or parole, the North Carolina Department of Adult Correction offender search is the tool. NCDAC profiles can list a committed name, aliases, an OPUS number, conviction, sentence, facility, movement, and status, with redactions applied under policy. Some profiles carry a photo. Others do not.
The placeholder
The Federal Bureau of Prisons locator tracks people in federal custody, and it shows no public photograph. The ICE Online Detainee Locator handles certain ICE or CBP holds and demands exact identifying details. It is not a Duplin booking feed. A county arrest there says nothing about immigration status on its own. Federal pretrial detainees can also slip past the BOP's sentenced-person locator.
For release and transfer notices, VINE Arrest Check walks through NC SAVAN and VINELink. VINE sends custody notifications for a matched person in participating systems. It is not a full arrest archive. It carries no mugshots. Duplin's Citizen Connect alerts, by contrast, cover BOLOs, road closings, missing persons, wanted notices, and previous-day events. The sheriff's office lists no booking-photo app and no automatic new-booking alert.
Duplin Arrest Statistics in Context
The North Carolina Department of Public Safety's 2025 Duplin County violence profile counts 2,981 total crimes and 124 violent crimes for 2023. That is a historical county measure. It is not a count of today's bookings, a jail population figure, or a tally of who sits on the current roster.
Crime reports, arrests, jail admissions, and convictions each count a different event. One incident can end with zero arrests or several. Read Citizen Connect as an event and custody system, not as a mirror of the state profile.
Recent Arrests by Duplin City
Wallace and Warsaw rank as the two largest incorporated places. That ranking comes from the 2020 Census source used here. Kenansville makes the list as the county seat. It is home to the central Sheriff, detention, and court contacts. Each town runs its own police department. None of the city pages offers a full municipal arrest log or booking-photo feed. When a city arrest leads to county detention, Citizen Connect remains the practical booking source.
- Wallace Recent Arrests explains the Wallace Police origin and county-booking path.
- Warsaw Recent Arrests separates the police department’s communications from the county roster.
- Kenansville Recent Arrests distinguishes town police, Sheriff, detention, and courthouse custodians.
A city arrest can go missing for several reasons. The person may have gotten a citation, been released without county admission, landed in another facility, or hit an exclusion. The arresting-agency field helps narrow things down. It still cannot turn Citizen Connect into a complete log of every police contact inside city limits.
Unofficial Duplin Arrest Sources
Official sources come first. Third-party sites can sometimes surface an old URL or a date when the county portal fights back. Yet they run stale, incomplete, or detached from the court outcome. RecentlyBooked posts a last-30-days Duplin compilation refreshed several times a day. Arrests.org uses date-indexed county pages. Mugshots.com centers its Duplin section on a 2011 through 2022 archive. Mugshots.zone looks dormant. Busted Newspaper has Duplin individual pages but no stable county landing path.
None of these is an official roster, court record, or proof of current custody. Update claims shift. Check every name, date, agency, and charge against Citizen Connect. Then confirm the outcome through the Clerk or eCourts. A private booking page can stay online long after release, dismissal, or a change to the official source.
Local news picks its spots too. WITN Crime and WECT Crime run event-driven Duplin stories. Those stories sometimes carry charges, agency statements, bond, or the jail destination. Duplin Times publishes weekly. WCTI and WNCT cover the region. No outlet keeps a complete Duplin booking blotter. A news image may come from law enforcement or be made for the story. It is not automatically a booking photograph.
Older Duplin Arrest Archives
An agency keeping a record and posting it online are two different things. The North Carolina County Sheriff's Office retention schedule lets arrest-processing tracking be destroyed one year after the arrest. DWI tracking goes after two years. Arrest reports outside a case file go after five years. Solved felony case histories can sit for 20 years. Misdemeanor histories and inmate incarceration records carry their own periods. Inmate list reports stay until superseded or obsolete.
Those windows do not bind Citizen Connect. A card may drop off sooner. Nor do they prove the State Archives holds every booking photograph. For a recent record, try the roster first. Next come Arrest Search and the court Portal. Then try a Sheriff request and the Clerk file, in that order. For an older series, consult State Archives local-government guidance or call Archives at 919-814-6840. Records cannot be destroyed while a litigation, audit, or other hold remains in force.
A record destroyed under the schedule may be gone from the Sheriff. Its court disposition can survive elsewhere. Write down the name, exact date, agency, booking or case number, and record type. Those details turn an archive request or public-record demand into something useful. A broad demand for every historical image rarely gets far.
